Happy Father’s Day

Posted: June 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

Since my blog  is about my pursuit of happiness through my passions, it would be far from “correct” for me to not blog on this day. There is always much confusion when I discuss why I do what I do and why I love what I do. Most who know me will automatically assume it is because of my father’s career and love for it. But, those who know me BETTER, know that is not necessarily the case. I am my own person.

My father, from a very young age (how cliche’, but it’s true) — like when I was a newborn in the crib — would always sing to me and very early on, I was mimicking the notes and tunes he sang to me at night…I’ve always had a love for music in me – always sang in church choirs, school choirs ensemble choirs and eventually grew to the point I’m at today. I thank him for exposing me to all types of artistry and music so that my love for music was fostered and that it could beget the life I’ve led thus far.

My father is incredibly talented and incredibly successful because of it. I don’t aspire to be him, but my aspirations to be “like” him are certainly justified…..HOWEVER, my father’s successes primarily lie in acting — and while that is also a true passion of mine, I am using my musical gifts …but, as they say, the apple never falls far from the tree.

I love and appreciate all of the comparisons and comments, because I know I am being compared to one of the best out here. My Pops.

Love you,
